How to read Soap Bubbles without overexplaining it

The fastest way to flatten satire is to over-annotate every line. A better approach is rhythmic reading: move through scenes first, then return to key passages with context.

Three-pass method

  1. Pass 1: read for story and voice.
  2. Pass 2: mark moments where tone shifts sharply.
  3. Pass 3: read one context essay and revisit those marked points.

If a line feels funny and unsettling at once, pause there. That tension is often the point.
